Ferdie Y. Mendita

Ferdinand (Ferdie) Y. Mendita wa born on December 17, 1959 in Baguio City, Philippines. He obtained my Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering degree from Adamson University, Manila, Philippines in 1980 and worked in for a Mining company as a Shift Engineer, then promoted to Assistant Mill Superintendent.

In 1984, he moved to Edmonton to marry my childhood sweetheart Merle. They are blessed with 3 sons and a daughter, SK Ralph, SK Ronald, SK Randy ; all members of Nazareno Council 12904 and St Michael Assembly 2795 and a daughter named Rosemary.

He has been with Century 21 Real Estate since 1989 until present. Aside from my Real Estate business, He also established a Food business, in Edmonton and area, operated by my son, Ronald.

He is an active member of Good Shepherd Parish in Edmonton, an Usher and a Lector.

He joined the Knights of Columbus in 1983 in the Philippines, then transferred to and become active with Nazareno Council #12904 in November 2001. I have served in many very important council projects and made tremendous impact and with distinction. He joined the 4th Degree in 2002, a Charter member and a Charter Honor Guard Commander, became Faithful Captain, and Faithful Navigator for 2 years of the St Michael Assembly No. 2795; and then a Marshall to Master of the 4th Degree.

He received Knights of Columbus awards namely: Nazareno Family of the Year 2007, State Family of the year 2007, A runner up for Supreme Family of the Year 2007, Sir Knight of the Year 2004, Shining Sir Knight 2004 and 2005, Faithful Navigator of the Year 2007, Assembly of the Year 2007, Top Proposer of the Year 2007. In November 2018, he was chosen to be a 2nd Degree Honoree recipient by Edmonton Chapter.

Ferdie was elected Insurance delegate to represent our jurisdiction at the 2011 Supreme Convention in Denver, Colorado and also at the 2018 Supreme Convention in Baltimore, Maryland.

Ferdie was a member of Nazareno Council’s First Degree team and Edmonton 2nd Degree team as a District Deputy.

He was appointed as the State Communications and Public Relations Director for 4 Columbian years 2007 to 2011, State Newsletter Chairman, State Affairs Editor/Chairman, State Alternate Funding Chairman and later served as the State Ceremonial Director for the last 2 Columbian years, 2011-2013

He has been respectively elected as the State Warden, State Advocate, State Treasurer, and State Secretary. I am the Grand Knight of Nazareno Council 12904 and a District Master of the Fourth Degree for Alberta/NWT - North for Columbian year 2020-2021. He am recently elected as the State Deputy for Columbian Year 2021-2022.
