Willis Winter

Willis Winter is a Professional Engineer in Calgary.  He has over 40 years of experience in high voltage transmission and distribution of electric power for both electric utilities and oil and gas companies.  His involvement in large power projects has ranged from initial planning through detailed design, and regulatory applications to construction. After starting his career at Calgary Power, Willis worked at  Enmax Power where he progressed through supervisory and management positions.  He then worked for Stantec Consulting as a Senior Consultant, Power on oil and gas projects and commercial facilities. Now retired, he is active in his parish community.


Since joining Council 7432 at St. Bonaventure Parish in Calgary, Willis has been an active member of the Knights of Columbus at the Council, Chapter, and State level.  He has served in a variety of positions on his Council executive, including Grand Knight and currently serves as the Council Advocate.


At the Calgary Chapter, he served several terms as the Treasurer and the Secretary.


At the State level, he was a District Deputy for four years followed by terms as the State Community Director, State Program Director, State Membership Chairman, and State Church Director.  He has been a member of several State Convention committees as a volunteer, as Vice Chairman, and as Chairman since 2003.


Willis joined the Fourth degree in 2000 and served on the Executive of Father Doucet Assembly.  When Monsignor John J. O’Brien Assembly #2786 was formed, he became the Charter Faithful Navigator.  From 2014 to 2018, he was the Master, Alberta South District.


In the community at large, Willis is a member of the Board of Directors for Camp Cadicasu where he is a liaison to the Knights of Columbus and assists with fund-raising.
