Bill Lewchuk

My formative years were spent growing up in rural and small town in Saskatchewan. After attending the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon), but prior to starting my teaching career, I joined the RCMP. Here I served in uniform for 3 years before moving into specialized service, working in various locations across Canada. Eventually I transitioned into employment with CSIS. Retiring from Public Service in 1994, I worked as a VP in an oil patch related industry from 1994 to 1995. In early 1996 I joined the Knights of Columbus Agency and provided service as an Agent in Alberta /NWT for more than 24 years, retiring in May 2020.

My wife Theresa and I have two daughters (two sons in law) and three grandsons. We are members of St Stephen Protomartyr Ukrainian Catholic Church in Calgary where I serve having been ordained as a Sub-Deacon in 2018.

My experience within the local Knights of Columbus began in 1990, when I joined Council 7659. Having served my Council as Deputy Grand Knight, Grand Knight, and Trustee I now hold responsibility as Council Membership Director. Coming from an immigrant family I have a special understanding of those families moving to Canada. I have helped focus on new Council development in many different ethnic communities and various Catholic Rite churches here in Calgary.
