Glory be to Jesus Christ!

Father Slavko Dumec was ordained to the priesthood in 2000 after completing his theological studies in Rome at the Pontifical Urbaniana University. A third-generation Ukrainian descendant born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he immigrated to Camrose, Alberta in 1996, where he reunited with his childhood friend and now wife, Ana.

Together they have three adult children, one of whom is married. Father Slavko has served in the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton for over two decades in Vermilion, Camrose, and Redwater, and since 2023, as pastor of Saint Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Edmonton. A member of the Knights of Columbus since 1999, he began his term as State Chaplain for Alberta and the Northwest Territories on July 1, 2025.
