Ian Clark

Ian is a fourth generation Albertan. He was born in Edmonton and raised in Calgary. Ian has been married to Lorraine since 1980 and they have 2 sons, Brandon (a Third Degree Knight in St. Bonaventure Council #7432 in Calgary) and Ryan. Lorraine and Ian are blessed with 5 grandchildren.

Ian joined the Knights of Columbus in 1993 and has been an active member of St. Bonaventure Council #7432, including holding the positions of Grand Knight, Chancellor, Trustee, Membership Director and most recently Financial Secretary for the past four years. Ian was exemplified into the Fourth Degree in 2005 and is an active member of Monsignor John J. O’Brien Assembly #2786, where he currently holds the position of Faithful Navigator. Ian also held the position of Calgary Chapter President for two years. Ian was elected to the position of State Treasurer in April 2023.

Ian has been a parishioner at St. Bonaventure Parish in Calgary since he converted to Catholicism at Easter Vigil in 1993. He has volunteered for the parish in several capacities, including with parish fundraisers, as a lector and for the past several years he has been the parish Lector Coordinator.

Ian earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary in 1979. He was employed in the Canadian oil and gas industry for over 40 years and retired in 2018. During his career he held positions with Shell Canada, Suncor Energy and Westmin Resources Ltd. Ian is a Professional Landman and for most of his career he was responsible for negotiating, managing, and administering petroleum land contracts. He was an active member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen and held various volunteer positions with that organization, including President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Technology Director. He also volunteered for many years for Canadian Parents for French, the Cedarbrae Community Association and as a soccer coach and co-ordinator.
